Division Party on Nov 8th

Our Division Party will be on Saturday, Nov 8th starting at 7pm at Gaspars Grotto on 7th Ave in Ybor. It will be a Superhero Theme with a contest to see who can come out in the best costume. We are also hoping to have a flip-cup tournament to determine who the best flip cup team is in the division. There will be plenty of free beer. The party is free for kickball players and $10 for guests.

Playoff Brackets

The Regular Season is complete and the playoffs are being plays this Sunday, Oct 19th. The gates open at 10am with the first round of games at 11am. Be sure to get your team there early to claim a good spot for tent and grill set up. While at the fields, be sure to grab your ballot to vote for the Crystal Pitcher.

Invite Your Friends to the Division Party on Nov. 8

I don't know about the rest of you, but I've had a blast this season. It's my second season (shoutout to Smack My Pitch Up). I think we've had a great group of players this season, rookies and veterans. And for those of you thinking about switching leagues, everyone knows that Breaker is the awesomest league in all of WAKA, so stop thinking about it.

We are having a big division party on Nov. 8. (More details to come.) The Breaker Board would like you to invite all of your friends to attend the party. It's a great way to spread the word about how great our league is. I know I have at least 5 or 6 friends who are interested in joining. Start spreading the word now.

Smack My Pitch Up Challenges Drunk Again and Scoring

For their week 10 rematch Smack My Pitch Up will be challenging Drunk Again And Scoring to a full team chug prior to the game to determine home field advantage. The team with the fewest number of people will determine the amount of chuggers in the relay. First team done gets to decide if they want to kick first or field first. We have had relay chuggs before but this may be the first instance of a full team chug in the Breaker Division.

After Smack My Pitch Up wins the game, they will also be challenging Drunk Again And Scoring to a game of Bottle Flip Cup at MacDintons. Each player will have a beer bottle in front of them and rather than simply flipping your cup over, you have to flip your cup onto the beer bottle. Does that sound cool to you? Of course, because it is.

Theme for Week 10

I'd Hit It has decided that their theme for Week 10 is going to be Superheroes. It was originally going to be nerds but they changed their minds. Superheroes will also be the theme for our Division Party on Nov 8th. More details to come.

Week 9 Predictions

Week 9 is upon us. That means that after this week every team will have played every other team as next week is Rivalry Week Part 2.

Smack My Pitch Up vs Great Balls of Fire: Both teams have a 3-5 record. Great Balls of Fire tend to keep their games pretty close while Smack My Pitch Up is an all or nothing team. Look for Smack My Pitch Up to end their losing streak. Prediction: Smack My Pitch Up 4 / Great Balls of Fire 2

Ballers vs Drunk Again and Scoring: Drunk Again and Scoring is strugling this season but last season they ended their season strong and were the hottest team entering the playoffs. The Ballers can be an excellent team when they show up. Look for the upset here. Prediction: Drunk Again and Scoring 2 / Ballers 1

Quit Yer Pitchin vs I'd Hit It: This game is what WAKA is all about. I'd hit it may be the rookie favorite to win the Crystal Pitcher with their themes and fun attitude. Meanwhile Quit Yer Pitchin may also be a Crystal Pitcher favorite with their fun on-field attitude and good sportsmanship. If you are a fan of defensive battles, this should be the game for you this week. Prediction: ***Censored by Courtney on Quit Yer Pitchin***

Seminoles vs Don't Touch My Balls: This game could be the preview to the playoff championship game as the division's top two teams face off. Refs for this game should be on their toes as each team is known for playing hard and taking advantage of every situation that they can. A Don't Touch My Balls victory would clinch a regular season championship. Can the underdog Seminoles pull off the upset? Prediction: Seminoles 4 / Don't Touch My Balls 3

Jamestown vs ShinKickers: The Shinkickers are currently in a 4 game slide and suffered a tough loss to the Seminoles last week. Jamestown is finally starting to find their groove and have rolled in their last 3. This game is your best bet if you are looking for a barn burner. Prediction: Jamestown 8 / Shinkickers 6

New MacDinton's Specials

Starting next week, WAKA kickball players will receive a 20% discount on food and drink items before or after game time. Valid for all items except items already on special offer. MacDinton's will provide two flip cup tables and a specific area outside on the patio for flip cup games.

There is also a possibility of having a regular flip cup tournament for charity at MacDinton's. The details for that are still being worked out.

Please encourage all of your teammates to visit MacDinton's before and/or after kickball games.

I'd Hit It Theme for Week 9: Pirates vs Ninjas

Week 7 had a pajama party, week 8 had clown, now week 9 will have a Pirates vs Ninja theme. Never heard of Pirates vs Ninjas? Wikipedia that sh*t! It's the age old argument, who would win in a fight? Pirates or Ninjas? We hope to find out in Week 9, well minus the fighting part. Dress up in your favorite Pirate or Ninja outfit.
