Week 4 Recap

This week 7's and 2's seemed to be the popular amount of runs to score. We saw a ton of good kickball and maybe even more bad kickball but all in all the season is really coming together well. Lets take a look at this week's action.

Smack My Pitch up had a hard time getting players out to the fields. Despite having one of the largest rosters in the division they could only muster 4 guys and 6 girls. Fortunately, that's all it took. With only 10 players Smack My Pitchup decided to step up the intensity in aggressive baserunning, that isn't necessarily to say smart baserunning. SMPU played with style with Dan kicking the ball like a ballerina and Smack My Pitch Up hit up I'd Hit It Again for 7 runs while only giving up one baserunner on defense. Final score: 7-0

All Banged Up were victorious this week. Not in the game, their defense leaked like a sieve. But they were victorious in scoring their first run of the season. Congratulations All Banged Up for losing to Quit Yer Pitchin by a score of 7-1.

Balls N Dolls are continuing to show that they are a force to be reckoned with this season but they had a tough challenge against Saved By The Ball this week. It was a tight game with Balls N Dolls just narrowly winning by a score of 3-2.

The BA-52's are named after the form that is needed to get someone committed for being crazy in the state of Florida. We might have to fill a few of those out for the BA-52 team. Apparently for the second straight week in a row they have decided not to force the other team to forfeit when their opponents failed to have enough players and instead allowed them to pick up players and play. Also Available In Sober picked up Cindy and Laura "The Brick Wall Defensive Star" Post from SMPU and beat the BA-52's 2-0.

Surprise surprise, Don't Touch Our Balls won again. This time against the Seminoles who seemed to be quite a bit inebriated thanks to St Patrick's Day and 2, count 'em 2 Seminole birthdays, Dale and Begy. I was promised a cool quote from Don't Touch Our Balls but no one could seem to come up with one.

Finally, Suck My Kick and Anything But Blue Balls faced off in a high scoring matchup. As I am told, ABBB was mounting a late inning rally in the 5th inning and had the bases loaded with 2 outs. The ball was kicked up the middle and in a controversial call the baserunner on second base was called out for being struck by a kicked ball. Suck My Kick was victorious 7-5.

So we have 2 undefeated teams (Balls N Dolls and Don't Touch Our Balls) who have had a relatively easy go of it so far this season. Since we have a 12 team division and a 10 week season, every team plays every other team except for one. In a strange twist of fate those 2 teams DO NOT face each other in the regular season. If each team is able to continue their winning ways the battle for regular season champions may come down to the Runs Against tie breaker. (Tie breaker goes head to head, then total wins, then runs against). Will it come down to that or will some other teams be able to upset the kickball juggernauts?

Which of these top teams is most likely to be regular season champions?
