Meet We've Got The Runs

As I'm sure you can tell, I have a good time writing the blog so hopefully at least a couple of you are enjoying reading it. I like to profile certain teams or players to let people know who else is in the division. Kickball is, afterall, a social activity and a great place to meet new people. So I decided that since we have so many new teams and players this season, I will try to interview and profile a new team captain each week for the rest of the season. By "I will try", I mean I will try to pass that duty on someone else for next week but this week I talked to the captains of We've Got The Runs.

Anne is the captain of We've Got The Runs and her co-captain is Michelle but Anne will tell you that Michelle actually runs the show, Anne just likes to be a figure head and have people bow down before her. Their team has lots of heart, lots of soul and lots of beer sports beverages and often have more coolers than players. They were very disappointed last week when their opponent in week 3 had to borrow a beer sports beverage for the chug off.

Anne was telling me that her team is made up mostly of nurses and construction workers and even a teacher or two thrown in. Anne was a member of Don't Touch Our Balls last season and all of her friends made fun of her for playing kickball. That's until Anne let her friends know that kickball was awesome and if you don't play kickball you can't be awesome. So she got lots of her friends to sign up, told her dad to tell his friends' kids to sign up, the word got out to cousins, former roomates, ex-lovers, step brothers etc etc until things just started sounding a little incestuous.

She seems to have put together a pretty fun team. They may not be great at kickball, in fact they are considering changing the team name to "We've Got The Run" since they can't seem to score more than once per game, but they are all having fun and that's really whats most important. What does her team enjoy most? As it turns out, they love eating chicken nuggets and macaroni and cheese before and after each game.

Both Anne and Michelle are trauma nurses at Tampa General Hospital. So guys, if you think they are cute, which you would be correct, and you would like a chance to meet them and have something to talk to them about, just chop off a finger or two and tell the ambulance to bring you to TGH.
