Tampa, FL - Last night at the pre-season meet and greet, several players from the team, Phase 10 got together and decided to change their team name. After much deliberation the team name was changed to Great Balls of Fire.
"Well, Phase 10 is the greatest card game ever, even if you have never heard of it, but it's not a name that exactly instills fear in your hated opponents on the kickball fields," stated team captain Shelley in a quote that I just totally made up. "There isn't anything intimidating about a deck of cards and we want teams to fear us when we take the field. We talked for quite a while and came up with some really bad names, finally we decided on Great Balls of Fire."
The new team name may be fitting since their team color is Texas Orange. Denis Quaid could not be reached for comment.Great Balls of fire will go toe to toe with I'd Hit It in the first week of play on Tuesday.
