Week 3 Recap

We have now completed 3 weeks of play and we are starting to get a very good idea of how the division is shaping up.

All Banged Up faced off against Saved By The Ball in a game that likely had the most memorable moment of the week. A girl on Saved By The Ball bunted and was running down the baseline when she tripped and fell and just layed there like a slug. Meanwhile, Tim from All Banged Up fielded the ball and leaped in the air doing his best King Leonidis impersonation from the movie 300 and pegged the girl square in the back. Rumors that Tim was yelling, "Tonight we dine in Hell!" as he made the play could not be confirmed. Ultimately, however, much like Tim's hero at the battle of Thermopylae (spoiler alert), All Banged Up was defeated in the end by the score of 4-0.

Quit Yer Pitching showed that they know how to score this week and just dominated Also Available in Sober by the score of 6-0. Tony from Quit Yer Pitching kicked one of the most impressive home runs ever on a kickball field when he blasted a ball from field B into the infield of Field A.

The faceoff between two of the most fun teams in the division ended up with a fairly boring final score as Id Hit It Again just narrowly defeated Anything But Blue Balls. As much as the light blue team is fun to hang out with, they have had a hard time since their week 1 tie with the Seminoles. They sure do practice alot though.

Don't Touch Our Balls beat BA-52's 5 to 1. Yawn. It's not really news anymore to report that Don't Touch Our Balls won... or that BA-52's lost.

We had 2 battles of the undefeated this week and both of them turned into blowouts.

Apparantly, field B was blowout city this week as the Seminoles crushed Suck My Kick 7-0 on the same field as Quit Yer Pitching beat up on Also Available in Sober.

The late game on Field C promissed to be a good game between Smack My Pitch Up and Balls N Dolls but sometimes promisses aren't kept. Before the game Smack My Pitch Up captain, Natalie, gave the team a pep talk. "Ok Guys, we haven't given up a run yet this season and I don't think that's very nice so lets go out there and give up some runs. Kevin, I especially want you to make a really awful play that will result in runs scored for the other team." Apparantly the team was listening because that's exactly what they did. Going into the 5th inning Balls N Dolls were up 7-0. Smack was able to mount a small rally with back to back triples by Lisa and Ty but it wasn't enough as the final score was 7-4.

In related news, Ty collided with a first baseman as he rounded first on a kick for the second week in a row. In case anyone hasn't noticed, Ty (that's me) is a big boy who can actually run fairly well for a big guy. Freight trains are pretty hard to stop so if you are playing the field anywhere near a basepath and Ty is up, you might want to step aside. Ty's new theme music as he steps to the plate will be "Move Bitch get out da way!".

In case you haven't seen today's cover story in the TBT or Daniel Ruth's Column in the Tampa Tribune, bestiality is apparantly still legal in the state of Florida. That's pretty disturbing and has absolutely nothing to do with our kickball division (at least I certainly hope not) but in a wierd way it's sort of funny. Did no one actually think about this before now?
